With the start of the new year comes the reset for all of our vacation leaves. So open up your calendars, mark the following Philippine Holidays for 2022, and save the dates for the year!

January Holidays

Long Weekend: January 1, 2, 3

January 1: New Year

People celebrate the 22nd year of the 21st century on a Saturday, making it on the list of long weekends for 2022. Given that we were particularly limited to our celebration of 2021, this new year felt like a blast.

February Holidays

Long Weekend: January 29, 30, 31, February 1; February 25, 26, 27, 28

February 1: Chinese New Year

We welcome the year of the Water Tiger with a blast, and of course, a properly planned Vacation Leave on January 31. You can check our Feng Shui guide for the year 2022 here.

February 25: EDSA People Power Revolution

Celebrating and commemorating this iconic event in our history can be a blast. File your Vacation Leave on February 28, and that is four days off work for you!

March Holidays

Sadly, there is nothing to note for the month of March as a holiday. Time to hustle in work here, you guys!

April Holidays

Long Weekend: April 8, 9, 10, 11 & April 14, 15, 16, 17, 18

April 9: Day of Valor & April 14: Maundy Thursday & April 15: Good Friday & April 16: Black Saturday

This is the longest in the list. You can possibly effectively make this a two-week off if you are willing to add a couple more VL’s on the 12th and 13th. Just make sure not to entirely forget the real essence of the Holy Week, and what it means to our faith.

May Holidays

May 1: Labor Day

A little bit unfortunate here. Unfortunately, May 1 falls on a Sunday, so we can’t exactly call it a long weekend, can we?

June Holidays

June 12: Independence Day

Following the track of the previous month, there is no appealing long weekends to look forward to for June as well. Independence day falls on a Sunday. What a bummer.

July Holidays

If you think June is sad, take a look at July. There are no Philippine Holidays for 2022 this month! If you plan to take a much-deserved vacation for your efforts this year, July is not the perfect fit. Unless you want a maximum of two days vacation, that is.

August Holidays

Long weekend: August 27, 28, 29, 30

August 29: National Heroes Day

Our first long weekend after months! By filing your vacation leave on the 30th, you effectively take a four-day weekend! As we honor the sacrifices and contributions of our national heroes to our country, we can also spend the weekend spoiling ourselves for a job well done.

September and October Holidays

Just like July, there is nothing exciting to look forward to when it comes to holidays on September and October. Maybe we can take consolation instead that the “ber” months have begun, and the countdown to Christmas has commenced!

November Holidays

Long weekend: October 29, 30, 31, November 1

November 1: All Saints’ Day and November 2: All Souls’ Day

It is the time of the year to reminisce our memories with our departed loved ones. Visit them on their respective memorial parks and maybe say a prayer or two. Remember that they played a role in our lives, one way or the other.

December Holidays

Long weekend: December 8, 9, 10, 11 and December 24, 25, 26 and December 29, 30, 31, January 1

December 8: Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary & December 24: Christmas Eve & December 25: Christmas Day & December 31: New Year’s Eve

Boy, oh boy! It is the most awaited month of the year. Not only do we eagerly await for our respective bonuses, we also await for the holiday seasons and the long weekends that come along with it! Christmas and New year definitely are my most favorite holidays of the year!

Conclusion

As many as these holidays are, let us not forget the true essence of celebrating these important events. We can always take leaves whenever we desire, but make sure that these days are days spent well! So what are you waiting for?! Make use of this Philippine Holidays for 2022 guide and plan the year ahead!
