Self-Talk is basically your inner voice or internal dialogue. When performing a particular task on your own, you may notice instances when you talk to yourself. We talk to ourselves unconsciously, sometimes even out loud when alone. Just as how negative self-talk can affect us through stress, positive self-talk is just as impactful. There are several ways in which positive self-talk can improve one’s physical health. First, it helps a person cope much better with stress and anxiety, which have been proven to be a major cause of poor health. Second, it helps them develop better habits, such as eating healthy and exercising regularly. Third, it helps them maintain an optimistic outlook on life, which is also associated with good health. Finally, it increases their self-esteem, which is another factor that contributes to good health.

Improved Self-Esteem

Self-esteem and confidence are two of the most important things to consider when it comes to personal growth and success. Positive self-talk can be a simple yet effective way to boost your confidence and help you succeed in all aspects of life.

Positive self-talk is a form of self-affirmation that helps you build your self-esteem and increase your confidence. It allows you to boost your self-image by reinforcing positive thoughts about yourself. This helps prevent negative thoughts from taking over.

Increased Motivation

When you’re feeling unmotivated, it’s easy to forget that you are capable of so many things. Positive self-talk helps you remember this and it reminds you that there are many things in your life that have been accomplished through hard work, focus, and determination. You can manage your stress through positive self-talk.

We’re all guilty of it: talking to ourselves in ways that are unkind, and even downright negative. But we don’t have to be so hard on ourselves! Here are some examples: “I’m here for me.”, “I deserve this.”, “I’m doing my best.”

Better Pain Tolerance

This leads to more resilience, which equips you to handle difficult situations, including pain.

Surround yourself with positive people and your self-talk will be affected as well. You will notice the change in the way you speak to yourself, and ultimately have a more positive outlook in life.
